Hemianthus callitrichoides, commonly known as HC or Dwarf Baby Tears, is a popular aquatic plant for creating lush carpets in aquascapes. Hemianthus callitrichoides is a small, delicate plant that originates from Cuba. It has tiny, bright green leaves that densely cover the substrate when grown in a carpeting style. The small size and intricate appearance of HC make it a sought-after plant in aquascaping.

HC requires high-intensity lighting, typically 3-5 watts per gallon (0.8-1.3 watts per liter) of full-spectrum light. It thrives in slightly acidic to neutral water conditions with a pH level of 6-7.5. The temperature should be maintained between 68-82°F (20-28°C). CO2 supplementation is highly recommended to promote healthy growth and vibrant coloration.

HC is commonly used as a foreground plant in aquascapes due to its small size and carpeting growth habit. It can be combined with other medium and tall plants to create a visually appealing layout.
