Lobelia cardinalis is native to North America, particularly regions such as the southeastern United States and parts of Mexico. It typically grows in wetlands, bogs, and along the edges of ponds and streams, where it enjoys a partially submerged habitat. Lobelia cardinalis 'mini' refers to a smaller variant of this plant

Lobelia cardinalis 'mini' is a compact and vibrant plant that adds a splash of red to an aquarium or pond. It features small, narrow leaves in shades of green and maroon, which can create a striking contrast in the aquascape. It is often used as a foreground or midground plant, providing a focal point of color.

This plant prefers a nutrient-rich substrate and moderate to high lighting conditions. It can tolerate a range of water parameters, but slightly acidic to slightly alkaline water (pH 6.0-7.5) is generally recommended. Carbon dioxide (CO2) supplementation may also benefit its growth and coloration.

Lobelia cardinalis 'mini' requires regular maintenance to thrive. It benefits from pruning to remove old or dying leaves, as well as to control its growth. It is also a good idea to regularly remove any debris or dead plant material from around the base of the plant. This will help prevent any potential algae issues and maintain the overall health of the plant.
