Sagittaria subulata is a versatile plant that can be used in various aquascaping styles. It features thin and grass-like leaves that are typically green in color. This plant can form dense carpets in the foreground of an aquarium or be used to create accents in the midground. It is commonly chosen for nature-inspired, biotope, or Dutch-style aquascapes.

This plant prefers a nutrient-rich substrate, but it can also adapt to different types of substrates. It flourishes in moderate to high lighting conditions but can tolerate lower light levels as well. This plant thrives in a wide range of water conditions. It can tolerate a pH range of 6.0-8.0 and temperatures between 68-82°F (20-28°C).

Sagittaria subulata is an easy-to-maintain plant. Regular pruning may be required to prevent overgrowth and maintain a neat appearance. It has a rhizome-like creeping growth habit, and runners can spread horizontally, allowing the plant to form a dense carpet over time. Trimming any excess growth will promote growth and prevent shading of other plants.
